Ancient travel trunk in checkered canvas - Alexandre Velay, around 1890 a rare and elegant chest made by Alexandre Velay, French grade from the 19th century, in a checkered canvas evoking the big names in luxury luggage. This superb travel chest is an achievement of the Alexandre Velay workshop, active in Paris at the end of the century. Covered with a brown and black checkerboard canvas, it evokes the style of the big briefcases of the time while affirming its own identity, through refined finishes and a robust construction. Brasscoos, wooden slats, apparent nails, side handles and functional locks: the whole presents very beautiful aesthetic coherence and a natural patina. The initials "PC" painted on the side add a personal and historical touch. This trunk is perfect for decorative use or as luxury storage furniture. He will delight collectors, decorators and vintage travel enthusiasts.
