Antique corkscrew in the shape of a bulldog's head

A striking silvered bronze corkscrew, its handle finely molded in the shape of a bulldog's head, with remarkable expressive realism. The flattened muzzle, protruding jowls, and wrinkles on the forehead are rendered with great precision, evoking the image of the English mastiff popular during the Belle Époque.

The worm is made of twisted steel and is fully functional. It has a beautiful patina of age, with signs of use consistent with its age.
It is probably an Anglo-Saxon product from the late 19th or very early 20th century, a period during which zoomorphic corkscrews were particularly popular.

A beautiful collector's item, both utilitarian and decorative, for lovers of wine, animal design or counter curiosities.
