Bulldog's old-fashioned corkscrew

Amazing corkscrew in silver bronze, whose handle is finely molded in the shape of a Bulldog head, with remarkable expressive realism. The crushed muzzle, protruding bays and front wrinkles are made with great precision, evoking the figure of the popular English molosse in the heyday.

The wick is in twisted steel, well functional. Beautiful patina of time, traces of use consistent with seniority.
It is probably an Anglo-Saxon production of the end of the 19th or the very beginning of the 20th century, the period during which the zoomorphic bounds were particularly popular.

A beautiful collection object, both utilitarian and decorative, for lovers of wine, animal design or counter curiosities.
