"Treasures of yesteryear imbued with history"
Place Fleury, Beaune - Burgundy, France
Rare box around 1880 in turquoise tinted alabaster and golden bronze frame.

- Price: 450
Charming rectangular ancient alabaster box, subtly tinged with a turquoise blue veined with white, mounted on four gilded bronze feet with lion's legs.
The mount framing the lid and the interior is finely chiseled with stylized foliage and leaflets, testifying to a beautiful work of goldsmithery.
Inside, the shade is deeper and lively, in sustained shades of blue, the result of an old dye enhancing the natural radiance of the stone.
This contrast between the slightly cloudy exterior and the more vibrant interior underlines all the aesthetic richness of this period box.
Made around 1880-1900, this type of decorative object perfectly illustrates the taste of the Belle Epoque for precious or exotic materials, often obtained by refined dye techniques.
