Gilded wooden wedding barometer | Restoration period

This superb 1819 wedding barometer , traditionally given by parents to newlyweds, is a moving testament to the refinement and customs of the era. Inspired by the Louis XVI style , it boasts a rich sculpted decoration: laurel leaves, knots, heart-shaped motifs, and pearls , as well as a pediment adorned with two embracing birds , symbolizing union and eternal love. Its finely decorated dial , signed and based on the principles of Torricelli , is in excellent condition. Although no longer functional, this instrument remains an exceptional piece, ideal for a collection or to enhance a distinctive interior.
