Silver wine taster – Paris, 18th century

A solid silver wine taster of circular shape, with an interior decoration of gadroons and dots , typical of tasting models from the late 18th century.
It has a serpentine , characteristic of Parisian productions of this period.
It bears a consistent set of hallmarks:
- maker's mark in a diamond shape with a spear ,
- crowned U guild hallmark (Paris),
- crowned charge punch.
These elements allow us to attribute this piece to the Parisian production of the second half of the 18th century, to Noël César Boutherque-Desmarais , who became a master in 1764.
Period: 18th century
Origin: Paris
Material: Solid silver
Weight: 95 g
Condition: Good used condition
A charming collector's item, emblematic of the art of tasting under the Ancien Régime.
