Small vase signed “de Vez”, Nancy, circa 1910-1920

Charming small vase (10 cm high), made of multi-layered acid-etched glass, decorated with a lakeside landscape: slender trees on the banks, mountains in the background and a twilight atmosphere rendered by shades of brown and purple on an amber background.

The signature "de Vez" appears in relief within the design. This mark is associated with the glassworks of André Delatte (1887-1953) in Nancy, which produced pieces in the style of Gallé and Daum. These creations aimed to make multi-layered glass accessible to a wider audience, while maintaining the artistic quality of the Nancy School.

  • Period: Art Nouveau / Art Deco, circa 1910-1920
  • Material: acid-etched multi-layered glass

Historically,
the stylized lakeside landscapes are typical of the "de Vez" production, characterized by subdued color contrasts and harmonious forms. Today, these small vases are sought after by collectors of Nancy glassware, as they represent a rarer alternative to the works of Gallé or Daum.
