Thomasson-style neogothic decoration corkscrew

Superb old corkscrew combining noble materials and Gothic decor. The finely chiseled bronze barrel represents a flamboyant Gothic style architecture: mood windows, pinnacles, crossbrokes and quadrilobed patterns evoking the stained glass windows of a cathedral. The turned bone handle, mounted in cross, is adorned at one of its ends of a small brush to clean the neck, kept in good condition.

The wick, with whole helicoid turns, is original. This type of luxurious object, mixing functionality and ornamentation, was often a table accessory in the bourgeois houses of the Second Empire or the Belle Epoque.

Very good, beautiful patina, functional wick, complete brush, rare collection model on the market.
