Black and golden lacquered wooden column XVIIIth

Elegant turned and carved wooden column, from the 18th century period, mounted on a rectangular base. The barrel, painted in black, is decorated with a carved and golden wood decor: a finely executed Corinthian style marquee and, halfway up, an imposing leafy and flowery mascar, typical of classic ornamental vocabulary.

The set forms a decorative architecture piece of a beautiful presence, probably intended to support a bust, a lamp or a vase. The ancient patina, the usures of use and the slight irregularities of the gilding testify to its authenticity.
