Description
Large two-part buffet in solid walnut and oak, of 18th-century Parisian workmanship. The upper section opens with two large leaves beneath an arched pediment with generous moulding; each door is articulated with three moulded panels of sinuous, serpentine lines. The lower section features two doors with arched cut-outs, with spandrels marking the corners. Inside the upper section, the shelves are arranged before a back assembled from moulded oak panels, intended for displaying objects. The piece retains its substantial original wrought-iron fittings, notably long vase-shaped hinges and a remarkable interior cremone bolt, pierced and engraved with foliate decoration. The whole presents an old, warm and satin-like patina.
