Description
Conical Rouen tin-glazed faience jardinière, raised on a moulded foot enhanced with cobalt-blue lines. Two applied vertical handles frame the body; their attachments are ornamented with combed motifs and stylised fleurons.
The continuous decoration, painted in monochrome blue overglaze firing, combines a frieze of scalloped lambrequins inspired by Bérain with scrolls, openwork pendants and floral fleurons. Two dentilated galloon borders frame the composition, while the glossy milky-white glaze highlights the richness of the decoration. Minor chips and signs of use are visible on the flared rim and the base.
