The saint, wearing the white wimple and black veil of the Poor Clares, is haloed.
She holds in both hands a gilded monstrance in the shape of a small tower, surmounted by a cross and revealing the consecrated host.
The hand supporting the base is wrapped in a white cloth, a sign of reverence for the Blessed Sacrament.
This attribute refers to the episode traditionally associated with the saint, who is said to have repelled the attackers of the San Damiano convent by offering them the Eucharist.
The panel, a single piece, retains clearly visible tool marks on the reverse, as well as an old typewritten label reading "s. Chiara."
