Gilded wooden wedding barometer | Restoration period

- Era: 1819
- Dimensions: 55 x 85 cm
- Price: sold
This superb wedding barometer 1819 style, traditionally given by parents to newlyweds, is a moving testament to the refinement and customs of the era. Inspired by the Louis XVI, it boasts a rich sculpted decoration: laurel leaves, knots, heart-shaped motifs, and pearls, as well as a pediment adorned with two embracing birds, symbolizing union and eternal love. Its finely decorated dial, signed and based on the principles of Torricelli, is in excellent condition. Although no longer functional, this instrument remains an exceptional piece, ideal for a collection or to enhance a distinctive interior.
